BaRaKaH Kids Club
Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim
Asalamualikum Wa Rahamtullahe Wa Barakatu
BaRaKaH Kids Club is a progression of BaRaKaH Mother and Child group which is a very unique organisation which started in February 2005. The project has celebrated its 10 year anniversary since its last report in 2014. The group has gone from strength to strength with more than 100 kids currently attending sessions and with over 40 volunteers who regularly support the project. After Tawfiq from Allah (SWT), the success of the group has come from the dedication, commitment and support of all those involved without this selfless help the project would not be where it stands today. The excitement of the kids brings its own pleasure and enjoyment, they are the true source of inspiration and drive to continue at the rate it is going. The kids bring tears of joy at the words they utter, ‘Khala are you proud of me’. They truly love attending and are the great advertisers of BaRaKaH as they proudly publicise it wherever they go. The attendance rate of the club is above 90%, and the kids often attend when unwell. This in itself leaves all involved in complete amazement.
In the past two years countless children have completed the programme and reached Quran level. Children as young as four years old are able to read Quran and most recently one child completed the Iqra reading series in five months. Hundreds of Surah’s and Duas have been memorised by the kids. Amongst all this amazing achievements the project remains busy with numerous ventures ranging from regular parties of success of the kids, to trips from Drayton manor, Chessington, Legoland, Botanical Gardens to Folly Farm. The excitement of the club continues with activities based around current attractions such as the BaRaKaH Bake Off, BaRaKaH Apprentice, The Legends. These activities keep the children enthusiastic and motivated to engage with their learning. Regular day trips such as football matches, lazer zone, limitless, bowling are offered in exchange for their achievements. A toy shop causing faces of delight. Fundraisers such as the international food festival attracted over 2,000 people creating a vibrant celebration of culture. The children excelled in their enterprise skills. Our yearly activities of BaRaKaH Quran Marathon where children and adults read over a thousand pages of Quran is a source of peace and comfort to the hearts. The Quran Competition creates challenges and surprises in what the children can achieve, and each year the children excel.
The curriculum working group have been working tirelessly since the summer of 2016 to develop our own curriculum that supports learning in a modern fun way. From making jar lanterns, keyrings, flags, canvases, board games and endless working sheets. This working group has amassed a huge supply of resources that will be available for generations to come.
With great sadness over the years we have lost countless respectful teachers and volunteers who gave endlessly to the BaRaKaH Kids Club. They gave selflessly their energy, time, support, dedication and have left great memories in our hearts that we will cherish forever. They remain a part of this great journey that we will appreciate endlessly, and I pray wherever they are they will keep the BaRaKaH Kids Club in their Duas.
I would like to end with this note that often people have said that BaRaKaH Kids Club is a family. I pray that Allah blesses all the kids and everyone to keep the Quran close to our hearts. My sincere thanks go to all who support BaRaKaH, it is impossible to list each and every one of you in this report you all know who you are, and your effort and deeds will not go unnoticed by the almighty Allah.
